Help! Im worried my cat is going to hate me

Okay so this will be long and winded. I have recently become a cat mother, as my boyfriend got my beautiful cat, he is 5 months now, i have had him since he was 10 weeks old. We have had to move from where we were living which was my boyfriends parents. So right now our and our cats living situation isnt the best sadly. My mum is building us a room, but that could take anywhere between a month or so, my cat has to stay in the bathroom during this time. We cant have him out because he would be able to go outside, (because we have dogs and we have to leave the door open for them). I let him out to run around the house with supervision but we have been really busy cleaning out the garage and the couple of rooms they already have to make room for us. And im just so worried he will hate me after, hes barely out of the bathroom and he cant sleep with us which he loves. I dont want to make him upset at all. He has lots of toys and i make sure i go in a sit with him alot when im able too, i change his water twice a day he always has plenty of food. When we lived were we use to we had him locked in our room until he was like 15 weeks and then before we moved he was only locked in our room over night so hes kind use to being locked in a room but that doesnt make it any better. But anyway im just asking for some advise! He doesnt seem sad, when ever i go in he seems very happy very talkative and loving, also when hes out he runs around pushing balls around playing, talking and falling asleep. Maybe im the one with the problem, i miss him so much, i love being able to sleep with him. Do you think he will hate me after this until we had have our own space?

Welcome to the forum smile

Cats are very resilient. If you're spending plenty of time with him, play with him, and let him out when you can, he will be fine for a month or two.

I don't see why the door need to be left open all day for the dogs though. I have dogs, and we don't leave the door open for them. Isn't it a simple matter of closing the door for a couple of hours and letting your cat roam the house, then put him back in the bathroom when you open the door?

Thank you for replying!!!❤ means alot!! And yeah thats what ive been doing, i spent like three hours the other night just patting him and rolling these balls around ahah he loved it, i keep buying toys aswell.

Do you think it would be a good idea to get him a harness and lead and walk maybe around the backyard or something?

And yes my point exactly! I dont see why they need the door open either they let you know when they need or want to go out. But yeah they just wont let it happen. So i just him roam upstairs and we have a gate so he cant get down and get outside.
Thank you for the help!❤
