Hi, we have had a new kitten for 12 days now. I have placed hin in a safe room, done scent swapping, feeding next to each other and room swapping with resident cat with the daily 5 - 15 min meeting. There is no hissing or growling and they will give nose kisses so i feel it could work out however after the 5 min mark my redident cat (1 year female) starts swatting my male kitten and chasing him for more swats. She will walk away for a minute but comes back again and again. At that point i place kitty back in safe room. Should i be concerned? Shall i just let them go a bit longer? Would love to see them happy together

Hi Mish, welcome to the forum smile

12 days isn't long. I would keep doing what you're doing, and gradually increase the amount of time they spend together. If there's any problems, put the kitten back in his own room.

It can take several weeks for cats to get used to each other.
